Support Intake Process

Your First Step To Support With Confidence

Beginning therapy can be a hopeful step forward.

Whether you’re helping a parent regain confidence after an injury, seeking clarity for your own NDIS goals, or looking for guidance for your participant’s next stage, your situation matters.

The intake process is designed to feel light, clear, and reassuring.

From the moment you reach out, you’ll know you’re speaking with real people who care and will make sure you’re understood.

Peace Of Mind Starts With One Call

That first call is often a moment of relief.

From the hello onwards, you’ll feel welcomed and supported.

Many participants and carers say they’re surprised by how light everything feels once the process begins.

It’s like opening the door to a friendly face, you feel reassured and ready for what’s next.

"My best advice to participants is there is no blueprint in supports that we provide, we can tailor make your administration as well as your therapeutic journey at TCAT"

- Hitanshi Rawal

What Happens When You Reach Out

The intake process starts simply.

Call or complete the short online form and share your details.

One of the intake team will be in touch, often that same day, to start the conversation.

From there, we’ll walk you through the next steps together.

If paperwork feels overwhelming, don’t worry, everything is explained clearly and you’ll have support at every stage.

Our Intake Process Looks Like This

Help Without The Wait

People are often surprised by how smoothly things progress.

If a clinician is available, you’ll know straight away.

If there’s a short wait, you’ll be told upfront so you can plan with certainty.

Many carers say this openness brings peace of mind.

Think of it like booking a holiday, once the dates and details are clear, you can relax and look forward to what’s ahead.

Finding The Right Connection For You

A big part of intake is matching you with the therapist who feels right.

One participant shared how much it meant to work with someone experienced in autism and anxiety, it gave her comfort and helped her feel understood.

When the fit is right, everything feels easier.

"We have an excellent team who actually value working here.

We are all here to make someones life better in whatever small way we can.

We bring our skills from other areas to empower others to live their best life."

- Deanna Maynard

Sharing Your Story

Once you’ve had your first chat, we’ll gather the details that matter.

This may include NDIS plans or reports, but don’t worry if you don’t have everything ready.

We’ll guide you gently through what’s needed.

Many families say it feels like someone is finally piecing the puzzle together with them,

creating a clearer picture and a calmer way forward.

Real People Explaining Why It Matters

Every clinician here has a personal reason for choosing this work. Many have family connections to disability or mental health, so they understand the real challenges.

When we ask our team to share something, it’s not a list of qualifications. It’s practical advice for you, like:

  • What to do when a child feels too anxious to go to school.
  • How to take the first step when you’ve just received an NDIS plan.

That way, you see the person behind the role. Someone approachable, kind, and ready to help.

A Clear Service Agreement

Together, we’ll create a service agreement, a simple plan that shows who will support you, when, and how.

You’ll know what’s covered and who to contact, giving you confidence and control over your next steps.

Your Voice Guides The Process

From the start, you decide how, when, and where support happens.  You can bring a family member, advocate, or friend to any conversation.

Ask as many questions as you like, your thoughts and choices lead the way.

Warm Support From People Who Get It

Behind every intake form is a person who understands real life.

The intake process is built on kindness and clear communication, so you always feel supported and never like just another number on a page.

As one team member put it, “You only see the true stripes of a company when something goes wrong, that’s when you see how they react and fix it.”

From First Call To First Session

Here’s how it usually unfolds:

  1. Initial Contact: Call or fill out the quick form.
  2. Same-Day Response: The intake team gets in touch.
  3. Referral Form: We collect details together.
  4. Service Agreement: A clear plan is made with you.
  5. Clinician Match: The right therapist is chosen.
  6. First Session: Therapy begins in person or online.

For many, the step from first call to first session feels quicker than expected, sometimes happening within just a couple of weeks.

The Comfort Of Knowing What Comes Next

Intake is designed to be calm and reassuring. It helps you feel confident that the right support is on the way.

It gives you space to focus on what matters most, your wellbeing, your family member, or your recovery.
